What is the PostNext asset library?
A cloud media library that stores images, videos and GIFs you reuse across posts. Upload PNG, JPG, WebP, MP4 and GIF files once, sort into folders, and pull them into post drafts on any supported platform. Storage scales with plan: 10GB on Premium, 50GB on Business, 10GB per user on Teams.
Which file types can I upload?
Images: PNG, JPG and WebP. Videos: MP4. Animated: GIF. These cover what every supported platform (X, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Threads, YouTube, Bluesky) accepts, so an asset uploaded once works on any channel without re-encoding.
How much storage do I get on each plan?
Premium includes 10GB. Business includes 50GB. Teams includes 10GB per user, pooled across the workspace, so a five-seat Teams plan has 50GB total. The free plan and the 7-day trial both come with library access on the same file types, so you can test with real files before paying.
How do folders work?
Folders work like a desktop: one file, one folder. Build folders for clients, campaigns or content pillars, nest them into a tree, and move assets between them as the library grows. Asset-level tags are not available today, so lean on folder structure and clear file names.
Can I search the library?
Yes. Search the library by file name from the library page and the matching images, videos and GIFs come up in one view. The composer's library picker shows your assets to browse and attach; it does not have its own search box yet.
Can I reuse an asset across multiple posts?
Yes - that is the point of the library. Upload an MP4, PNG or GIF once and attach it to as many posts as you want, on any supported platform (X, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Threads, YouTube, Bluesky). Reuse does not consume extra storage; one upload, many posts.
Can my team share the same library?
On the Teams plan, yes. Every seat in the workspace draws from the same pooled library and the same pooled storage (10GB per user, so five seats = 50GB shared). Uploads and folders created by one teammate are visible to the rest of the workspace.
What happens if I hit my storage limit?
New uploads are blocked once you reach the limit (10GB on Premium, 50GB on Business, 10GB per user on Teams). Existing assets keep working in posts. To free space, delete files you no longer need or move up a tier - Premium to Business adds 40GB, Business to Teams shifts to a per-seat allowance that scales with the team.
Does the asset library have a public REST API for DAM-style syncing?
Yes. The public REST API can upload assets (direct, from a URL, or via presigned S3 upload), list your assets, fetch one, and delete, authenticated with an API key. Docs live at postnext.io/api. Tagging endpoints and event webhooks are not part of the API today.
Can I migrate assets from Dropbox, Google Drive, or a previous social tool?
Not yet. There is no Dropbox or Google Drive import. Upload directly instead: drag and drop, paste a URL, or script bulk uploads through the API, then organize with folders and bulk move.
How does the asset library handle GDPR data export and right-to-erasure?
There is no one-click ZIP export today. Assets can be downloaded individually or fetched through the API, and GDPR requests (export or erasure) are handled through PostNext's privacy request process.
Can I A/B test two creatives attached to the same scheduled post?
Not built in. The practical route is duplicating a draft with a different image, scheduling both, and comparing each post's engagement in analytics.
Does the asset library support bulk renaming or bulk re-tagging of media?
You can select multiple assets and delete them or move them to a folder in one action. Bulk rename and bulk tagging are not available today.
How does pooled cloud storage work on the Teams plan across multiple users?
Teams gives 10 GB per seat pooled across the workspace. A five-seat team has 50 GB total, new seats add 10 GB each, and storage is not partitioned per user, so any seat can upload until the pool is full.
Can I auto-resize images per network when scheduling a multi-channel post?
There is no automatic per-network cropping. Platforms receive the image you attach, and oversized files are downscaled where a platform requires it. If you need platform-sized visuals, the AI image generator can create images in platform ratios like 1:1, 4:5, 9:16 and 16:9.
Does the asset library integrate with the AI Content Creator's image generator?
Yes. The composer's media picker pulls from your asset library, the AI image generator, and stock photo search across Unsplash, Pexels and Pixabay. AI-generated images save into your library automatically so they stay reusable. Generating uses AI credits; stored files count toward plan storage.
