How to Add a Link to Your Instagram Bio

In the Instagram app, go to your profile, tap Edit profile, then Links and Add external link. You can add up to five websites, and anyone who views your profile can see them. The option is in the app only, not on a computer.

When one link in bio page beats five links

Five links cover a lot, but the list only shows a short address for each, it cannot hold a product, an event or an email signup, and you cannot see which link people tap. A link in bio page solves all three: one link on your profile opens a page with as many links as you need, a signup form and your latest posts, and you can change it without editing your profile.

Open your profile

In the Instagram app, tap Profile or your profile picture in the bottom right.

Tap Edit profile

Tap Edit profile at the top of the screen, then tap Links.

Tap Add external link, enter the web address and tap Done, then Back.

With more than one link, open Links, tap Options, then Reorder links, and drag the most important one to the top.

Why is the link in my Instagram caption not clickable?

Instagram does not turn web addresses in captions or comments into links. Put the link on your profile, or in a Story with a link sticker, and point people there.

What does link in bio mean?

It means the link mentioned in a post is on the account's profile, because a caption cannot hold a clickable link. Tap the account name to open the profile, then tap the link under the bio.

Is a link in bio page better than five Instagram links?

It depends on what you share. Five links are enough for a few destinations. A link in bio page is better when you want more than five, titles people understand, an email signup or a product on the page, or click counts for every link.
