Who can add a link

How to Add a Link to Your TikTok Bio

Open your profile, tap Edit profile, then tap Add next to Links. TikTok makes the website link available once you have at least 1,000 followers, or on a Verified Business Account. Until then, a web address typed into your bio text or a caption will not be clickable.

Who can add a link

1,000 followers, or a Verified Business Account

TikTok's help centre names two ways to unlock the website link on a profile: reach at least 1,000 followers, or run a Verified Business Account. Plenty of videos say that switching to a business account was enough for them, but TikTok's own wording says verified. If you cannot add a website under Links yet, the usual reason is that the account does not qualify yet.

How TikTok opens links

Links open inside TikTok first

Tapping a profile link opens the page in TikTok's in-app browser. To protect people from scams and phishing, TikTok limits how far someone can follow a chain of external links inside that browser, so a visitor may be asked to open the page in their phone's own browser. TikTok recommends direct links that reach the intended site in a few steps. It also no longer supports links that open or log you into other social media apps, although links to those platforms' websites still work.

One link, many places

Make the one link count

TikTok gives you one website slot, so most creators point it at a link in bio page that lists their shop, newsletter, latest video and other profiles. Because of how the in-app browser treats long chains, keep that page short: put the destination most people want at the top, or send the whole page straight to one link while a launch is on. PostNext's free page can do both, and it shows how many visitors arrive from TikTok.

TikTok bio link FAQ

Quick answers on followers, business accounts, captions and what happens when someone taps your link.

Why can't I add a link to my TikTok bio?

Usually because the account does not qualify yet. TikTok's help centre says the website link is available to accounts with at least 1,000 followers or a Verified Business Account. Until you reach one of those, there is no clickable website on your profile.

How many followers do you need to put a link in your TikTok bio?

1,000, according to TikTok's help centre. A Verified Business Account can add a website link without reaching that number.

Does switching to a business account unlock the link?

TikTok's help centre says a Verified Business Account, not just a business account. Some creators report that switching was enough for them and others report that it was not, so the dependable routes are the two TikTok documents: 1,000 followers or verification.

Can I put a clickable link in a TikTok caption or comment?

You can type a web address there, but it will not be clickable for viewers. The website link on your profile is the place for a link people can tap.

How many links can I add to my TikTok profile?

TikTok gives you one website link, and where available you can also show a Lemon8 account. To share more than one destination, point that website link at a link in bio page that lists them all.

Why does TikTok ask to open my link in another browser?

TikTok opens profile links in its in-app browser and limits how far people can follow a chain of external links there, to protect them from scams and phishing. When that limit applies, the visitor sees a prompt to open the page in their phone's browser. TikTok recommends direct links that reach the site in a few steps.

Can I link to my Instagram or YouTube from my TikTok bio?

Yes, by adding the web address of that profile. TikTok says it no longer supports links that open or log you into other social media apps, but links to those platforms' websites still work.

What is a link in bio page?

A link in bio page is a single web page that holds all your links, so the one link TikTok gives you can lead to your shop, newsletter, latest video and other profiles. Tools such as Linktree and PostNext create one at a short address.

Is the PostNext link in bio page free?

Yes. The Free plan includes one published page at postnext.io/s/yourname with every block type, click analytics and a QR code. Paid plans add more pages, a custom domain and removal of the small Made with PostNext badge.

How can I see which links my TikTok visitors tap?

Use a link in bio page with analytics. PostNext counts views and clicks for each link and shows how many visitors arrived from TikTok, so you can see which destination your audience actually wants and move it to the top.

How do I report a suspicious link on someone's TikTok profile?

Tap the link on their profile, tap the More options button at the top, then tap Report and follow the steps.

Can I change my TikTok bio link later?

Yes, from Edit profile, in the same Links section where you added it. If the link points at a link in bio page, you rarely need to: change the page instead and the link on your profile stays the same.

One link for TikTok, Instagram and everywhere else

PostNext gives you a free link in bio page at postnext.io/s/yourname, with your links, latest posts and an email signup, and shows which links TikTok visitors tap. The same account schedules your TikTok videos.
